Personal tax preparation is available by appointment to individuals without dependants who make less than $30,000 and individuals with dependants who make less than $40,000.
To be eligible, you must:
- Live in the riding of Cambridge (Preston, Galt, Blair, North Dumfries, North Brant)
- If you live in Hespeler, please call Kitchener South – Hespeler MP Marwan Tabbara at 519-571-5509
- Not have self-employment income
- Not have business or rental income
- Not have capital gains or losses
- Not have employment expenses
- Not file for bankruptcy
WHAT TO BRING TO YOUR APPOINTMENT
- A copy of your completed 2018 income tax return and 2018 Notice of Assessment
- Social Insurance Number for your and your spouse/common-law partner
- List of dependants and their birth dates and Social Insurance Numbers
- Details of spouse’s income and dependant’s income
- Date of marriage or separation (if in 2018)
- Details of any alimony and maintenance payments received or paid
- If a new immigrant, date of arrival in Canada
- If a first time home buyer, details of home purchase
- All receipts of income for salary and wages, pensions, annuities, Old Age Security benefits, Canada Pension Plan benefits, Employment Insurance benefits, Registers Income Fund income, interest and dividend payments, workers compensation payments, social assistance payments, Universal Child Care Benefit statement, Working Income Tax Benefit Advance Payment statement, foreign income statements, US Social Security Statements, etc. (T4, T4A, T4E, T4RIF, T4RSP, T5, T3, T5007, RC62, RC210, foreign income receipts/statements, etc.)
- All receipts of expenses (property taxes, rent paid, child care expenses, medical expenses, charitable receipts, political receipts, , transit passes, union and professional dues, tuition paid, student loan interest, RRSP contributions, etc.)
- If you sold a principal residence and have no capital gain because you are eligible for the full exemption, the following information is required: the year of acquisition, the sale price, and the description/address of the property
